FYRO

Gyro drone project

Mesurex Aeronautics and Future Engineering have partnered to develop the “Fyro”: an autogiro with added capabilities of gliding and vertical takeoff and landing.

Tri-rotor autogiro

The Fyro is a tri-rotor autogiro (two frontal and a third) for vertical ascent and descent, and with two lateral retractable wings that provide a greater gliding range and increased fuel savings:

The Fyro will use a hybrid energy consumption system based on traditional fuel and rechargeable electric power automatically generated as the principal rotor and the inside gyroscope rotates; providing the unit with unprecedented stability and balance

Advantages

Present modifications confer advantages over traditional models of the gyrocopter or similar aircraft.

Vertical take off

(no runway needed)

Vertical landing

(no runway needed)

Optional horizontal takeoff

(additional fuel saving)

Optional horizontal landing

(additional fuel saving)

Greater fuel efficiency than helicopters

Less susceptible to adverse wind and meteorological conditions
